George Jerome leads Plastic Fantastic, a vinyl-focused radio show built around a collective of friends, DJs and fellow record obsessives who share a deep love for music on wax. Broadcast twice a week on Wythenshawe FM, Plastic Fantastic takes two slightly different forms: a rotating Sunday crew and a Wednesday-night show with George flying solo — all digging deep into the crates for vinyl gems, forgotten favourites and records guaranteed to get your feet moving.

Plastic Fantastic began life in 2018, when George and good friend Cliff started an internet radio and SoundCloud project built around rare soul, crate-digging, overlooked records, favourite finds and the stories behind the music. Luke Benfield was also part of those early shows and later introduced the project to Colin Owen, who kindly invited George and the team to join November 2023.

What began as an online project gradually grew into Plastic Fantastic as it is today: a proper team show, while still keeping the same anything-goes spirit, love of unexpected musical connections and belief that great records always deserve another spin.

As the show developed, Manon and Jazzy B joined George, Cliff and Luke to form the wider Plastic Fantastic family.

On Sunday mornings, straight after the legendary Jimmy Lambert at 11am, different combinations of the crew take to the airwaves, each bringing their own tastes, stories and records to the show. No two Sundays are quite the same, with the sound naturally shifting from week to week while still remaining unmistakably Plastic Fantastic.

Then on Wednesday nights, at 10pm, George flys solo: two hours of deeper crate-digging, favourite finds, musical connections and the slightly more late-night side of Plastic Fantastic.
