A former Independent Local Radio DJ, he started on Radio Tees and went on to Chiltern Radio where he was a presenter and manger, before becoming an executive producer at BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2.

With this long radio experience, Paul has built up a bulging "little black book" of contact numbers, with star names stretching back decades. Each week in his Private Lives show, he drops in on a guest from the golden age of rock and pop to chat about their career and current projects.
