Wythenshawe Transplant Charity Celebrates 40 years

New Start, originally 'New Heart For a New Start', was established in 1986, to raise funds to allow the first transplants to take place at Wythenshawe Hospital.

The charity today supports people going through heart and lung transplants and their families, through a journey that can be very long. They help fund equipment and facilities at the hospital.

With NHS budgets under pressure, New Start can fund and improve transplant care, from bed bikes to the refurbishment of Jim Quick Ward.
